This movie kept popping up in my life, first from a book I just read by Alan Dean Foster about the novelization he did, then it popped up in a discussion about music, then it was finally an item on reddit about how deliciously campy it is, a sentiment that I fully agree with. The special effects are mediocre, the story barely makes sense, and the acting is hilariously appropriate for the setting. The one shining light is James Horner’s soundtrack and if you listened to this immediately after listening to the Star Trek 2 soundtrack I wouldn’t judge you if you thought it was just disc two of the same soundtrack, and I mean that in the best way.
