Greyhound

 Greyhound

Directed by Aaron Schneider. With Tom Hanks, Elisabeth Shue, Stephen Graham, Matt Helm. Early in World War II, an inexperienced U.S. Navy captain must lead an Allied convoy being stalked by Nazi U-boat wolfpacks.

Tom Hanks mentioned that he was heartbroken that the film wasn’t being shown in theaters due to the global pandemic that has killed over 130,000 americans, and due to the incompetence of the Republican party, is due to kill thousands more and cause an economic apocalypse that the country hasn’t seen since the 1920’s Great Depression.

I agree with him too though, Greyhound would have been a perfect summer blockbuster, it’s a visually amazing film with a soundtrack that really pulls you in, all with a story that’s high anxiety, and high action. Plus, it has the aforementioned Tom Hanks, America’s actor. It’s great on Apple TV and looked amazing on my tv, but I still would have enjoyed it that much more if it was in a Dolby Digital theater with those overpowering speakers and massive digital screen, but alas, we’re still suffering through a global pandemic that’s killing people left and right without any possibility of relief due to anti-science and anti-common sense Republicans.
