Family man Dom talks about family to his family, then evil anti-family woman appears and threatens Dom’s family. Dom betrays his family, causing some of his family to go to jail where they get broken out by extended members of the family. Dom’s family is concerned that he’s not in the family any more, so they act together as a family to put their family back together. The resolution is no big surprise, but the inclusion of outside members into the family was a revelation.
In all seriousness though, it was a good entry in the pantheon of Fast & Furious movies. Still not as good as 2Fast 2Furious or Tokyo Drift, they’ve definitely strayed far from street racing and ordering Tuna Sandwiches with no crust.
In some ways I’m happy the series has evolved, others I’m saddened. Each move has a compulsion to do bigger and more bombastic stunts, but where does it end? In space? How would that even work? I’m going to need to do a drunk movie break down when this is finally released to home audiences, nearly every scene is broken in some hilarious way that on the surface seems cool, but if you think about it to long….well it just falls apart.
