The Vast of Night

 The Vast of Night

Directed by Andrew Patterson. With Sierra McCormick, Jake Horowitz, Gail Cronauer, Bruce Davis. In the twilight of the 1950s, on one fateful night in New Mexico, young switchboard operator Fay and charismatic radio DJ Everett discover a strange audio frequency that could change their small town and the future forever.

If you’ve read any of the reviews of this movie that made it sound to be a “Brilliant” or “ingenious” film, you’ve already had it ruined. Not because this is a bad film, but because it’s a perfectly “meh” film. It’s ok in what it shows, but a third of the movie is just three different interviews with people that saw or heard something. The rest is just a woman running around in a 50’s skirt with a guy, both of them making comments that always felt too on the nose for me.

This is a perfectly “ok” film that I guess you should watch if you want to be in on the okness of it.
