It’s absolutely ludicris to me that Aquaman, of all the characters out there, gets the best comic book movie that DC has put out. Man of Steel was close, but BvS and Justice League were meh. Wonder Woman was nearly perfect, but then they left Themiscyra and they fell back into mediocrity. Aquaman is pretty consistent throughout the film and there were times that I legit felt like I was watching Tron: Legacy.
This was a good, comfortably goofy movie that opens with a blink and you’ll miss it snowglobe sitting on top of a copy of “The Dunwich Horror“, which sets the scenes for some truly horrifying story elements. Of course there’s a set up for a sequel, but this is done in a way that doesn’t negate the rest of the story.
