After a deadly crash, Mission Controller Mackenzie Wilson (Sackhoff) assists an artificial intelligence system, A.R.T.I., to uncover a mysterious object under the surface of Mars that could change the future of our planet as we know it.

Katie Sackoff is largely the only person in this film, playing off cell phone conversations, video conferences, and in person interactions with an AI that may or may not be responsible for Very Bad Things happening on Mars. Like most other one man shows, the entire movie hinges on her abilities to interact with people that are off screen, something that she does very well. The special effects are absolutely amazing, but the story and dialogue from everyone involved are lacking in gravitas, which is unfortunate for the subject matter that they eventually work they way towards.

It’s a good attempt though and you should check it out if you have a couple hours to kill.
