Eyes on the Prize

EyesOnThePrize Eyes on the Prize

Produced by Blackside, Eyes on the Prize tells the definitive story of the civil rights era from the point of view of the ordinary men and women whose extraordinary actions launched a movement that changed the fabric of American life, and embodied a struggle whose reverberations continue to be felt today.

Absolutely riveting and engaging, one of the best long form documentaries I’ve ever seen on race and race relations in America. I caught an episode on my local PBS incidentally after Newshour one night, specifically the episode about schools in Boston, and decided that the rest of the series would be great to watch.

It absolutely was, I highly suggest this to anyone that would make an argument for removing race from determining factors for school admissions, hiring, or protected statuses in America. It’s a complicated story but one that’s well worth your time to learn.
