Spider-Man: Homecoming

91h3O6Z6IbL. SL1500 683x1024 Spider Man: Homecoming

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

I watched this a couple nights ago (release night, ‘natch) and somehow forgot to log it. I’ll not go into spoilers here, but boy howdy was I happy with what they did in Spider-Man: Homecoming. I do have some minor complaints and one large one, but the large one dives deeply into spoiler territory, so let me just hint at it by saying: it is heretical that she’s not a red head.

Having recently wrapped up a re-watch of all the MCU movies, I feel like I can put this one in the top 5, likely even in the top 3. Tom Holland is as perfect as Robert Downy Jr was when he first started, and there’s significant rumors that Peter Parker will eventually take the place as Tony Stark is phased out in the next several movies.

There’s two post credit scenes, one is great and the other is pretty awesome in it’s own regard. , so please stay until the credits stop rolling, if you have patience it’ll pay off.
